AEMS MC

Aems started making music and DJing at thirteen, coming up through Newcastle's hip-hop scene before finding his natural home at 174 BPM. What began with hip-hop grew into a career spanning drum & bass, dubstep and bass music — as both a vocalist and a producer.

For years he held down the resident MC spot at Turbulence, the legendary DnB night at Digital in Newcastle, until the night bowed out. Today he hosts Motion Sickness, carrying the torch for bass music in the Toon — and his voice has fronted sets and releases connected to Hospitality, Shogun Audio, UKF, GetDarker, Renegade Hardware, Critical and many more. Trusted to host for the scene's top names - Aems has hosted sets with all of DnB and Dubstep's top names including luminaries like Andy C, Skream & Benga, Chase & Status, Wilkinson, Serum, Subfocus, N-Type and many more.

On record, the catalogue runs from the Nike Delta Force and Synapse EPs, through Hear Dis with Rick Fury to the Snowcrash EP — plus a run of bootlegs that have done the rounds in DnB sets everywhere. Collaborations include Stenchman, Suspect and Orien. Check out his music on Soundcloud and Bandcamp.

These days you'll also find him on The Aems MC Show — his podcast on all major platforms — and streaming on Twitch.
